Actually not belonging to the Anita Rambonnet Series, but
quite related to it, is this abridged autobiography by Anita Rambonnet’s daughter. She gives an
account of her impressions and experiences, during the 1925-1946 years, in Soekaboemi and Buitenzorg (where
her father in both towns was the mayor), and in Batavia, where she and her parents were
interned by the Japanese occupiers in 1942. She pays special attention to this
first year of Japanese rule, when her parents were severely interrogated by the Japanese military police because of supposed espionage. Her brother was
interned in Hiroshima in Japan.
